Printmaking Unleashed Inspired Project Video by Mindy Lacefield

No reviews yet

Watch how mixed-media artist Mindy Lacefield creates a paper journal page using a few simple techniques from Traci Bautista’s book “Printmaking Unleashed.”

Techniques Featured in this Video:

To start, Mindy created a handful of prints using an assortment of techniques found in “Printmaking Unleashed.”

Mindy cut out elements from each print and arranged them on the wood background to create a whimsical scene. She used Collage Pauge to glue the papers onto the background, and continued to cut, arrange, and glue until she was satisfied with how it looked.

Next, she painted the background white and randomly spritzed spray ink to add some texture.

Mindy sketched a face using the Stabilo All pencil, and added shading with colored pencils.

For additional texture, she used Traci’s Creativity Flows Cling Mount Stamp with permanent black ink. Then she created a dress for the girl using an assortment of the pre-made collage paper.

To finish, she used acrylic paint to highlight some areas of the painting, outlined collage elements with the Stabilo All pencil, and added more detail and texture using a regular pencil.
