Casa Vista Mixed-Media Collage How-to Video

No reviews yet

Watch this Periscope broadcast as Artist-in-Residence, Jenn Taylor, creates a mixed-media collage using our new Casa Vista Palmiers Kit. Learn to collage different textures and materials to create a card with grungy details and stamped accents.

Techniques Featured in this Video:

Collage an assortment of paper and vintage book text onto a sheet of watercolor paper with gel medium.

Dry brush white paint over the collaged paper.

Add bits of black paint.??

Tear the tea bag into small bits, and add to the background with gel medium. Allow some of the black paint to be absorbed, adding a nice distressed look.

Allow the entire collage to dry.

Tear a glassine envelope in half, and glue to the background with gel medium. Use your fingers to smooth out any bubbles. The envelope may wrinkle a bit; this will help add some texture to your background and will slightly show through once you glue down the transparency.

Glue or machine-stitch the transparency to the background.

Allow the entire collage to dry again.

Stamp leaves to the top corners, and a flourish to the bottom. Stamp word directly onto transparency.
