DIY Orange & Mint Sugar Scrub by Danielle Williams
Sometimes, simplicity is best. Rather than making a complicated bath and body recipe, this straight-forward sugar scrub only requires a few ingredients, most of which might already be on hand. Running to the store for a quick errand has become more difficult these days, so this sweet scrub will help ease your mind. If you don’t have sweet orange/orange and peppermint essential oils at home, feel free to switch them out for a different blend.
You Will Need
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup coconut oil
- Jar: small
- 15 drops sweet orange/orange essential oil
- 10 drops peppermint essential oil
To Make
Combine the sugar and coconut oil in a small jar. Add the essential oils, and stir to combine. Wrap jar with fabric scrap and attach dehydrated orange slice and mint leaves.
To use, apply to hands, legs, or any rough skin patches.
Safety Precautions
- Citrus oils can cause photo-sensitivity. When used topically, you should not expose yourself to direct sunlight. If going outdoors, always wear sunscreen, or you can use this scrub in the evening to avoid exposure to UV light.
-
When using essential oils, always test a small area of your skin, first, to check for sensitivity. Avoid contact with eyes and approach all ingredients with extreme caution if you have any health or skin conditions or allergies.
