4 Ways to Alter Amber Jars

These amber jars are a versatile way to display your homemade bath and body projects. Whether you’re making lotions, homemade hairspray, dry shampoo, or customized perfumes, these jars and bottles have just the right look for showcasing your creations.

4 Ways to Alter Amber Jars Project Directions:

1. Texture It

Wrap stencil around bottle, and hold in place with tape.

Use a palette knife to apply texture paste through the stencil, then carefully remove. Allow the texture paste to completely dry.

Lightly sponge on umber acrylic paint to add a bit of contrast.

Stamp word onto grubby tag, and then wrap the jar with twine. Attach the tag to the twine.

2. Add a Label

Print off vintage label from e-crafting.com (1EC-FRENCH). Size the labels to approximately 2-1/2 x 3," and print them onto white printer paper.

Cut out the images, and glue to the bottle using gel medium. Add a thin layer of gel medium over the top of the label to seal it.

3. Washi Tape

Wrap three contrasting washi tapes around the jar. Remove the lid, and fill with flowers to use it as a vase.

4. Create a Pattern

Wrap stencil around glass bottle, and hold in place with tape.

Mix a bit of blue and white acrylic paint together. Once satisfied with the color, mix in some texture paste.

Carefully use a palette knife to apply texture paste through the stencil, then carefully remove. Allow the texture paste to completely dry.

Sponge the pattern with a bit of white paint to dull down.

Wrap bottle with rusty wire.
