CARRIE BOWER⎟ IN HER STUDIO WINTER 2025
In regard to her moody, nature-inspired studio, crafter Carrie Bower shared: “At first, it seemed as though such a small space would not suffice. Over time, I grew used to the cozy sweetness of this fairy-tale corner. Having it tucked within our room made it easier for me to multi-task, whereas before I had to leave the house to work on projects. Since forest walks are a dear past time that we all really enjoy, I wanted to bring that storybook feeling inside to inspire me while working at my desk.” See more in the Winter 2025 Issue of In Her Studio.
AMY FREEMAN⎟ IN HER STUDIO SPRING 2025
When fiber artist Amy Freeman’s textile collection became too much for her primary studio, she looked upward for a new space, sharing: “I have a studio on the main floor of our home, and it has served me well for many years; however, as my textile collection continued to grow, along with my desire to create and sell, it became clear that another space was needed. I needed a separate space, one that was not only beautiful but also cozy, cottagey, and filled with vintage furniture and endless shelves for fabric. Welcome to my little attic studio.” See more in the Spring 2025 Issue of In Her Studio.
SUZANNE ELLER⎟ IN HER STUDIO SPRING 2025
For assemblage artist Suzanne Eller, including sentimental pieces in her studio helps create a cozy atmosphere, as she shared: “My tiny 9ʹ x 9 ʹ ‘she shed’ defies all logic because, somehow, I am able to cram everything in while carving out a corner for creating art. Every square inch is used, and the vibe is a mashup of scary-rusty and comfy-cozy. It looks a bit like a crazy apothecary shop, with jars of all of the things I use to create my pieces. My favorite inspirations are incorporated into the space to ground me and remind me of my journey, like the quilt my mom made me using my childhood Brownie uniform … ” See more in the Spring 2025 Issue of In Her Studio.
SARAH JANE MATTACKS⎟ IN HER STUDIO SUMMER 2025
Meticulous organization and a cute, cozy aesthetic make the studio of creative consultant and kit designer Sarah Jane Mattacks feel extra special. Sarah shared: “I have enjoyed my current studio for the last 15 years, and stepping into it is like stepping into Narnia! It’s hidden behind a secret bookcase door in the corner of my bedroom. As you open the door, you’re hit with magical, pastel-colored sensory overload. Even the doorway itself is a beautiful storage area, with both sides full to the brim with a rainbow of pretty color-sorted beads and sequins.”
