Postcard No. 1: On Kraft postcard (4" x 6"), use Horizontal Fade stencil with black and white acrylic paint, letting the brush get dirty and mix to gray so there is shift of dark to light with the descending circles. Using Damask Bordersstencil, pounce turquoise paint, then add in a little black. Outline damask pattern with white gel pen.

Postcard No. 2: On Kraft postcard (4" x 6"), use Damask Borders stencils with black acrylic paint, overlay Horizontal Fade stencil with turquoise paint, outline damask patterns with white gel pen.

Postcard No. 3: On Kraft postcard (4" x 6"), take Damask Pattern stencil and brush heavily with black acrylic paint over scrap paper, flip stencil over and monoprint onto card for a reverse effect.

Postcard No. 4: On Kraft postcard (4" x 6"), brush surface with a mix of teal and black, overlay Damask Border stencil and brush through large pattern with turquoise. If the color doesn't have enough contrast to background add in a little gesso.

Postcard No. 5: On Kraft postcard (4" x 6"), paint background with a wash of turquoise, overlay Damask Border stencil and brush through small pattern with teal and black. Move stencil around and fill in blank areas with additional pattern.

Guest artist Michelle Ward outlines step-by-step how to create stunning Kraft postcards using various designs from her new 9 X 12 stencil collection.
