Start by lightly sanding the tea tin. This will make the surface a little rough and distressed so that the paint adheres easily. Paint the tin and lid with white acrylic paint, and allow it to dry. Using a black permanent market, write your recipe and instructions on the outside of the tin. Take a piece of checkered fabric tape, and wrap it around the edge of the lid. Fill the tin with the pre-mixed dry ingredients, and add these to the tin. Alternatively, you can bundle up the separate ingredients in plastic wrap and secure it with some divine twine.
