Kraft file folders can be purchased at most large office supply stores, and they make a great canvas for all kinds of craft projects. I decided to use a couple to create folder "pockets."
Instructions for Back to the Basics Project
Cover the front of each folder with a piece of patterned paper. When adding a piece larger than the folder, lightly cover the folder with a liquid adhesiveand affix the paper. Allow it to dry, then trim the excess with scissors.
Choose smaller pieces of paper in other colors and designs to accent. Cut them to desired size and ink edges with brown ink before gluing.
Stamp bird and bee images onto light pieces of cardstock. Cut out the images and ink the edges before gluing onto the folders.
Once adhesive is dry, use a needle and light brown colored thread to stitch the corners of the stamped images and the short sides of each folder to create the pocket. Fill your pockets with ephemera, photos, recipes, and more!
