Free Project Idea: Queen Persephone PaperWhimsy Tutorial

September 19th, 2016

Queen Persephone PaperWhimsy ProjectAccording to Greek mythology, Persephone was taken by Hades to the Underworld as his bride, making her Queen of the Underworld. She mourned the loss of her world until she was able to return at the beginning of Spring. This story seemed like a fitting tale for the coming Halloween season, so this assemblage doll celebrates this myth and the emotions of mourning. For this project, I also challenged myself to create a monochromatic project using only black and a very dark grey. The end result compliments the Halloween motif well, but also adds a level of sophistication and elegance that can be made any time of year. Read the rest of this entry »

Orange Spice Wassail SoapsThere is one Fall tradition that I remember more than any other. Throw a Girl’s Night Soap Making Party!

September 2nd, 2016

Soap Making PartyMy gal pals and I threw an amazing tie dyeing party a few weeks ago and we’ve been itching to get together ever since for another crafting party. It’s a time to hang out, chat about life, and make something new.

For our next soirée, I was thinking that a soap making party could be the perfect chance to stretch our creative muscles. Each of us can create a customized soap to take home, with different scent combinations and dried herb mixtures.

This party idea can be created with your own supplies, or you can purchase the Girl’s Night Soap Making Party Kit at The Shoppe At Somerset. Read the rest of this entry »
