It’s been a great, big, beautiful year for Stampington & Company. We’ve discovered new techniques, we’ve been inspired by our artists, and we’ve celebrated new victories. Here are some of our favorite highlights from social media this year. We hope you find some inspiration for the New Year and make 2017 your most creative year yet.

“As much as nature-themed art with a delicate appearance appeals to me, I have found myself increasingly drawn to setting birds, butterflies, and, in this instance, a dragonfly against a more urban, industrial surrounding. The juxtaposition of the fragile dragonfly against what could be the timeworn brick wall of a derelict building speaks of the decline of the natural habitat of our flora and fauna. That said, the contrast can also heighten the sense of beauty, of catching sight of delicate fluttering wings against the rust and debris of urban life.” — Lynne Moncrieff | Somerset Apprentice: https://stampington.com/Somerset-Apprentice-Autumn-2016 #nature #juxtaposition #dragonfly #SomersetApprentice #urban #mixedmediaart #collageart #papercrafting

“To me, Jane Austen is as much a heroine as the girls in her novels; at a time when women were supposed to be accomplished in every art and craft without ever stepping outside of the lines, she dared to pursue her creative dream and be an artist … Sometimes it feels like we are looking at life through a window, merely catching a glimpse off all its possibilities, but Jane’s heroines teach us to grow and learn without ever letting go of our dreams.” — Laly Mille | Artists’ Café: https://stampington.com/Artists-Cafe-2016-Volume-10 #JaneAusten #literature #prideandprejudice #mixedmediaart #ArtistsCafe #heroine #creativedream #artist @lalymille

“When I am able to create, I feel so much better about everything. My tag journals are a creative outlet I can finish in a short amount of time. They become mini-scrapbooks, places to write my feelings, or just a place to slap on some paint.” — Jenni Zmuda | Art Journaling: https://stampington.com/Art-Journaling-Autumn-2016 #ArtJournaling #artjournal #tagjournal #alteredtag #tagart #artjournalpage #painting
