Spring Fling: A Double Dose of Lavender

Rich in history and herbal healing powers, lavender’s ultra soothing scent and shade has endured the years as a multifaceted miracle worker. The ambiance of such an enchanting aroma and soporific color can easily lull anyone into a tranquil feeling of “ahhhh.” Making a debut on the pages of our most popular magazines, this svelte flower steps out of its attachment to old-fashioned use to motivate your artful inspiration this spring. As a lover of lavender myself, I’m excited to share some favorite pictures I’ve hand-plucked from several of our most popular issues.

I LOVE lavender! I like it in tea blends, I infuse simple syrup with it to make lemonade or ice cream or scones, I like to use perfume oils that include lavender, just about any way you can enjoy it, I do! I also keep a few lavender plants on my balcony. Great features here!

  2. Patti J. says:

Mmmm….lavender! It’s wonderful in soaps, candles, and lotions, and makes a bath SO relaxing! Also love it in sachets – makes clothing smell delightfully fresh!

  3. Brooke Bock says:

I went to a lavendar festival once on a local farm…there were some lovely lavander cookies and an amazing salad dressing….At home, nothing beats a sweet little lavender sachet in your drawers…..

  4. Ellen says:

I love this heady scent. I actually tuck Lavender spikes into my linen closet. My pillow cases linger with their soothing perfume~ I swear it helps one have the sweetest dreams!

Thank you for sharing all these wonderful stories and ideas :D

Off to plant my head on ahhhhh!
    Sweet Dreams!

  5. Patricia says:

I avoided lavender until recently because I prefer spicy, musky, clean, non-sweet aromas instead of sweet and floral. Lavender, I finally discovered when I gave it a chance, is not sweet and floral but gray, leans spicy with a bitsy touch of floral, I had to acquire a love affair, but now I find it my absolute-must-go-to scent for a brain band-aide.

…..I want to add a thank you for this wonderful article download from 2011 Somerset Life with lavender teases! This is a perfect example of why I keep every issue of Stampington publications; I have that issue but an article about lavender in Spring 2011 was not on my radar then. Now it’s time to dig it out, bookmark this article in my copy and revisit that entire issue again!

  7. Kathy says:

My use of lavender is rather basic. A friend gifted me a bag filled with lavender and I keep this in my office and when I need a lift in spirits I take it out and draw a deep breath full of its scent. It transports me to a place of peace.
It sounds a bit like a drug addict taking a whiff of chemical, but the results are much kinder :)
I do use lavender oil in my bath as well for tranquility.
    It is truly lovely!

  8. Stampin Stacy says:

I place lavender blooms between 2 sheets of cardstock and then run it thru my embossing/die cutting machine for a scented card. Just touch up the bloom impressions on the cardstock with a bit of pastel chalk and add a bow and sentiment. Your card is ready to give to someone special. I’ve even added the compressed blooms to ATC’s with gel medium, just be sure to coat all over to preserve it.

As a bonus, your craft/art room will smell great too.

  9. Peggy Lee says:

I have loved Lavender from the first time I ever experienced it’s wonderful scent. It is a very popular item with both customers and friends/family alike!
I recently ordered more Quality Lavender Buds from Washington State, and am currently in the process of making more beautiful sachets and other Lavender products for my customers.
Giving the gift of Lavender for ANY occasion is always a hit! You just cannot find a more versatile plant as Lavender for it’s many wonderful characteristics and uses!Everyone can benefit from this wonderful herb with the soothing, calming, scent and the resulting relaxation it provides!

  10. Susan Hemann says:

I been been growing lavender for years. Having several bushes gives me enough lavender for a year. I am a doll maker, so I always stuff lavender in them.

  11. Susan Hemann says:

I forgot on other thing. Lavender is great for migraines. Put a drop of lavender oil on both sides of your temple. Also small lavender pillows make wonderful gifts for people who suffer from headaches. they just keep one by their pillow.
