Write Me Little Notes Project

No reviews yet

While rummaging through a box of old project ideas, I stumbled upon this corrugated cardboard journal with some gesso across the front. I put it in a box of “starting points,” odds and ends that I can use to begin my next project, and didn’t think too much of it until I was searching for that perfect substrate for this week’s project.

I chose to blend it with boho chic elements, but I see in our archive that this journal has had many lives — first as the journal from the Washi Paper Bezel Journal Wraps Project, then for the Capture Life’s Moments Inspirational Journal Project, and most recently as the Instantly Inspired Journal. Throughout its journey, each project designer has put their unique twist on the journal, then left it for the next person to find and remake. It reminds us that it is never too late to begin again and give something old a new twist.

Write Me Little Notes Project Directions:

Prep Ridge Journal with a messy layer of white gesso.

Whitewash a piece of paper from the Wild and Free paper pad with white acrylic paint. Rip around the edges to form a rectangle slightly smaller than the journal cover.

Stamp Lady Macbeth onto book text and rip paper, carefully following the outline of the stamped image.

Adhere rectangle to journal cover, then Lady Macbeth image. Add lace and a metal arrow to the bottom of the cover and glue with strong adhesive.

Cut out a phrase from the Wild and Free paper pad, adhere to some tickets, and attach to the top of the journal cover.
