Grace Notes Journal

No reviews yet

I used to be an avid journaler, but after spending my days writing articles and letters from the editor, I’m usually fresh out of ideas when I sit down to write for myself. I’ve been itching to get back into it and realized I needed to take a different approach to journaling than I have in the past.

Before I would fill page after page with my thoughts and feelings. I could write for hours! I just don’t have that kind of time anymore and I’m not always feeling inspired. Luckily, working on Bella Grace has really opened up my eyes to new ways of writing. Why write a four-page entry when a simple list will do? Sometimes a quote might describe my mood better than my own words ever could. And as much as I love writing the prompts for the magazine, I thought it’d be a good idea to write some for myself, just in case the creative well runs dry (as it often does).

Armed with my favorite Moleskine journal, I got to work. Using my fingers I spread a layer of blue paint across the cover and let it dry. I then added a pretty postcard to the front and attached it with washi tape. Because I was inspired by Bella Grace, I decided to name my journal “Grace Notes.”

Inside, I added journal flaps by taping notecards to the spine with washi tape. There, I could record short thoughts or simple quotes. I also added prompts to the tops of several pages. And just for fun and to finally use some of my stash, I added washi tape tabs to some of the pages.

With this journal, I have plenty of blank pages to record long entries as well as notecards for some shorter ones. No matter what my journaling needs are, this will fit the bill!
