A Sophisticated Birthday Crown Project

No reviews yet

Today is my birthday! Normally, my birthdays are rather lackluster affairs that involve everything I would normally do that day, plus a slice of cake. However, today I decided to treat myself to a birthday-themed project. I was looking for that little something enjoyable to make my birthday extra special. This project reminds me of those birthday crowns that toddlers wear for their commemorative photo shoots, but with an elegant twist. Our best-selling chipboard crown was the perfect base for this birthday DIY.

A Sophisticated Birthday Crown Project Directions:

Prime entire crown with a thin coat of Hickory Smoke Distress Paint. Allow to dry completely.

Stamp surface of the crown with a text stamp and permanent black ink. Set with a heat tool to ensure that the ink doesn’t smudge.

Attach a piece of packing tape to the bottom of the crown on the back side. Trim away excess tape with scissors or a craft knife.

Sprinkle Onyx Glass Glitter into the windows, flattening them out with your finger so that they stick to the packing tape.

Fill in each window in the crown with Judikins Diamond Glaze and allow to dry completely. Use a toothpick or the end of the craft knife to smooth the glaze into each corner.

Glue a piece of velvet ribbon around the bottom of the crown.
