Here's
a romantic way to display your family photos and memorabilia: Use them
to decorate a writing desk. Artist Lynne Perrella not only used copies
of her grandparents' wedding pictures to decoupage her desk, she also
photocopied her family's linens, and used them as accents. Actual paper
lace, doilies, old buttons, feathers, and paper roses gave the desk
added dimension. As Lynne writes in her article, "I wanted the
finished desk to have the essence of old, well-cared for linens: fresh
and pristine but with the undeniable feeling of history." We think
she succeeded, beautifully.
