Wire Mesh

Welcome to the wonderful world of wire mesh! We’re proud to introduce three different types of mesh, each with its own unique features. Ideal applications general to all three metals include arts, crafts, jewelry making, and home décor. Consider using this exciting material to embellish cards, altered books, scrapbook pages, purses, and even wearable art! All three types cut easily with scissors, and the Copper and Brass sheets can be sewn like fabric. The sheets fold easily, and are 100% real woven metal. Each package contains one sheet measuring 16” x 20”.

Copper and Brass: Use these sheets on pages, with eyelets and rivets, and to create pockets. They can be used on the outside of a journal, and look great when used with beads and charms. The packages show the Copper and Brass sheets being used to create candleholders, a jewelry pin, ornaments, accessories, and memory books. The copper sheet will change colors when heated on an electric burner.

Aluminum: A looser weave, these sheets also have amazing possibilities. Use them for project windows, collage, or other embellishements. Consider weaving narrow fiber through the diamond weave, or painting the diamond mesh for a different look. This product is actually called WireForm, and can be used for modeling shapes by providing structure and support to projects, including polymer clay, plaster cloth, and paper mache. Impressions can also be lifted from rigid objects by pressing and stretching WireForm over the project.

Copper Mesh Envelope

Cut copper mesh (5AO-50080H) into an envelope shape using a die-cut machine. Cut a slit along the of the bottom flap's fold. Slip a length of Brown Sugar Bead Fringe (5FL-BFC560-B) between the two layers. Apply copper foil tape to the bottom edge, making slits to work around the beads as shown. Apply a second layer of tape to the front edge. Apply the copper tape along the remaining edges of the envelope. Fold the envelope as shown. Attach an eyelet to hold the three flaps together. Attach an eyelet on each side of the top flap. Wrap a length of Tea Rose Fibers & Ribbon (5FLTRFIB) around a length of copper wire. Attach the wrapped wire to the eyelets on the envelope to create a hanger. Knot the fiber ends and coil the wire ends. Hot glue a snippet of the beaded fringe and an angel charm to the center of the envelope.
