Introducing our line of Somerset Artist Papers in three collections of papers, vellums and transparencies reflecting the beautiful hand-tinted photographic imagery of Angela Cartwright's international travels.   

The collections are grouped into visual themes titled "Stone Portals," "Cottage Garden," and "Casa Vista."  Each collection will offer a variety of 12"x12" quality artist papers, 12"x12" translucent vellums, and 8 1/2" x 11" transparency sheets.

Cottage Garden Altered Books

House book:
Make you own house book from chipboard or use a pre-made one. For the cover use paper and vellum from the Cottage Garden pack(5SC-50310) for the base.  Then randomly put Paint rub-ons(5BG-BEL683) at the top of roof.  At bottom of house stamp Wrought Scroll (C8473) with black stazon (5TS-BLACK).  Tear scraps of paper and add them toward bottom and then stitch the bike/window transparency (5SC-50310) to the center of the piece with white thread. Add a scrap piece of paper to the top with an 'i' stencil that says 'innocent'.  Add a Brown Velvet Brad(5CI-18829) over top of it.  For the eave of the house use pink Smitten Adhesive Paper Ribbon(5KC-562196).  Then add more paint rub-ons (5BG-BEL683) to the bottom.  Edge top with white acrylic paint and then add some randomly all over.  Add the rub-on word 'welcome' to the side and then put the house book together.

Abbey Lane book:
Cut the tree paper(Cottage Garden 5SC-50310) to fit the size of the cover of the spiral book.  Add a tan piece of scrap paper to the top of the piece.  Add some brown ink randomly to the piece.  Cut out a heart from white paper and add toward bottom.  Take the tree transparency Cottage Garden Trans 2 (5SC-50312) and sew it to the paper with white thread.  Add strips of paper to form a window shape.  Randomly add more brown and white acrylic paint all over.  Add a sticker at top that says 'Abbey Lane' and outline with a pen.  Then add the 'photography' sticker above and below the tree transparency.  Punch holes on left side to match up with cover and attach.  Edge with brown acrylic paint.

The Earth book:
Start by measuring size of cover and use paper from the Cottage Garden pack (5SC-50310) and a piece with a window and the tree paper.  Randomly add blue acrylic paint to the center.  Add three Prima Flowers(Prima Flowers ) randomly.  Then add a printed word transparency to the center.  Add Say It With Crystals (Prima Crystals)  to the center of the flowers.  On the right side add Paint rub-ons(5BG-BEL683).  Then add a torn piece of paper to center with a black punched hole ripped paper and then sew on the nest/eggs transparency from the Cottage Garden Trans 2 (5SC-50312) to the center with white thread.  Then sew a heart around the eggs.  Add the '2 for 15' at the top and then edge with black acrylic paint.  Punch holes to match up to the book and attach to the cover

Cottage Garden Manila Folders

Easy and artistic project that requires only 3 materials (manila folders, artist paper & rub-ons).  These are great to add some color to your filing system and look great displayed on your desk!  Start with regular manila folders and your favorite Angela Cartwright papers (5SC-50310 and 5SC-50320).  Glue a sheet of artist paper to the front side of the manila folder then trim the excess paper off the edges.  Add rub-ons as desired. 

Thoughtful Angel Gift Box & Tag

Cover a paper-mache box and lid with white ornate motif paper from Angela Cartwright - Somerset Artist Papers - Stone Portals (5SC-50300). Paint the sides of the lid with silver acrylic. Attach embossed metal strips to the top edges of the lid’s sides, as shown. Cut out an angel image from a Stone Portals 3 Transparency Sheet (5SC-50303). Trim the angel cutout into a tag shape and attach to a Silver Metallic Hang Tag (5WNSILVER). Tie a wide silver ribbon around the prepared gift box and tie into a knot. Trim the edges of the ribbon. Tie the prepared tag to the ribbon with a length of cream ribbon From Antique Ribbons (5MA-23192).
