Leaf Necklace
By Sharilyn Miller

As featured in the Autumn 2003 issue of Belle Armoire, this "Faux Metals" leaf necklace was made with black PolyShrink®, Impress Me rubber stamps and metallic Lumiere paints by Jacquard. After sanding the plastic and cutting out leaf shapes, artist Sharilyn Miller punched holes in leaves, heated them with an embossing (heat) tool, and pressed textured stamps into the hot, molten plastic. As soon as the plastic had cooled, it was released from the stamp and painted with layers of Lumiere paint using a dry-brush method. The leaf charms were then incorporated into a wire-art necklace. You will find a complete description of the process along with step-by-step photos starting on page 36 in the Autumn 2003 issue of Belle Armoire.

Hawaiian Delights Tag Necklace
By Sharilyn Miller

Artist Sharilyn Miller, also Editor-in-Chief of Belle Armoire magazine, made a necklace similar to the Leaf Necklace using the same process. The only difference is found in the plastic shapes, which are rounded rectangles, the stamp images (from Rubber Stamp Plantation), and the paint colors.

Abstract Art Bracelet
By Sherrill Kahn and Sharilyn Miller

Using rubber stamps from Impress Me and Jacquard paints, artist Sherrill Kahn created a collage of imagery on a sanded sheet of translucent PolyShrink®. She then cut out the pieces, punched holes, and shrunk the charms with an embossing (heat) tool. Once the pieces had cooled, she over-stamped some of them and applied more layers of paint. Artist Sharilyn Miller took over from there, creating a wire-art necklace and bracelet set with copper wire and the painted, stamped charms. This jewelry set is featured in the book Rubber Stamped Jewelry; personally autographed copies are available exclusively from Stampington & Company.
