DOUBLE
EXPOSURE
by Suzee Gallagher
This dream-like scrapbook page by Suzee Gallagher
reflects her love of photography (she used an old doubleexposed
print of a friend), her eye for color and design, and her willingness
to experiment with unusual materials (the transparency is framed
by electricians tape). Learn more about Suzee and see
additional samples of her scrapbook pages and other artwork
on page 35.

are some of our great articles and projects from Legacy, Summer 2004.
Creating
with Debbie Crouse
7gypsies artist and designer Debbie Crouse is never at a loss for creative
ideas. She's forever improvising, turning an old clipboard into a clever
frame or adding junk-drawer finds to the spine of a journal. In this
profile by author Erin Trimble, Debbie shares a few of her innovative
projects for you to create yourself.
Wisdom
Journals
You'll fall in love with Kari Barrera's romantic journals. With their
silk flowers, lush ribbons, and beautiful papers, these journals are
elegant keepsakes for a mother to pass along words of wisdom to future
generations.
A
Time to Heal
Most stories about preemies are never told, let alone made the subject
of scrapbook pages, says artist Mary Walby. So Mary created "Life
Defined by Preemies," a collection of page layouts and journaling
tools dedicated to the parents of premature babies. Her pages have
touched the hearts of these parents, who appreciate her capturing
those "soft moments" when they first bond with their little
ones, "even if it was through the isolette glass."
Readers
Reveal their 'True Colors'
In the autumn 2003 issue of Legacy, we invited our readers to create
a self-portrait in keeping with the spirit of "True Colors: A Palette
of Collaborative Art Journals." Here are the colorful results,
and you can see the rest of the wonderful
portraits on this website by clicking here.
