MY WISH FOR YOU
by Carol Wingert
All of her life, artist Carol Wingert has wondered about her cousin Zena and her life in faraway Russia, a life much different than her own. The two have never met, but Carol has always felt a special kinship with Zena and was inspired to create this haunting and beautiful photo transfer collage of her cousin. Read Carol’s letter to Zena, and discover how she used photo transfers to create this and other gorgeous works remembering her Russian relatives.

Here are just a few highlights from our February/March 2005 issue!
How to Love a Child
Allison Strine was so inspired by a poster she saw by the artist Sark called "How to Really Love a Child" that she created this colorful fabric book for her own children. We think you’ll really love this playful artwork.

Vintage Babies
Carlene Federer "adopted" these adorable babies that she found at antique stores while vacationing in Carlsbad, California. The result: sweet, Victorian-style scrapbook pages with plenty of romantic embellishments.

Embellished Baby Collages
Wondering what to do with your baby photos? Janet Hofacker created these wonderful dimensional collages with vintage fabric, buttons and ephemera. She offers step-by-step instructions for creating a baby collage of your own.

Correction: Due to an editing error, the clothstrips mentioned in Janet's article were incorrectly listed as 1/4" wide. They should be 3/4" wide. Legacy regrets the error.

Love Story
We simply fell in love with Carolyn Congrove’s "Love Story" – a Valentine book she made for her mom and dad. Carolyn used envelopes for her pages, filling them with old clippings and photos. Find out how she created this pretty paper Valentine.
