Christmas
in July: Gift Book Boxes
Remember, "Don't judge a book by its cover"? Well, our artists
didn't when we sent each of them a blank wood book box for this article.
What each of them has done to that book box will take your breath
away! They've certainly given both the cover and inside a new look
using a variety of elements. With the subtlety of a book, but the
surprise of a gift inside, these book boxes make delightful Christmas
projects you can start working on now.

A
Different Point of View
Once again our AOCs rise to the artistic challenge as we explore five
more images from our collection. Inspired by the Fruit Block (M4372),
Large Gazebo (P2015-Discontinued), Large Hour Glass (P2003), Giant Pillar (P2097),
and Tea Time (D6177-Discontinued), they
came up with great color combinations, clever boxes, gorgeous tags,
jewelry and more! If you're not familiar with this regular feature appearing
in each issue of Stampington Inspirations, we like to show the versatility
of a single stamp and explore the many ways an artist can use one image.
Take-out
Style
If you own a PC, there's an amazing CD-ROM called Fit-It Volume I that
will change your stamping life in more ways that you can count or imagine.
It includes 30 different templates, and each one can be re-sized and
customized right on screen. What that means is if you want to make take-out
boxes like these samples, you can create something under an inch high
for a pair of earrings or a coin; three or four inches high for a stamp,
ink pad or mini book; or larger for a bath kit or journal. See page
39 for ordering information!
Stamper's
Block
Stumped for a fun gift to give a special family member or friend? Suffering
a little stamper's block? We've got just the remedy! Take an ordinary
plain paper cube to a new level with these fun and easy ideas. Our artists
have turned standard pads of paper into art blocks with a little stamping.,
some embellishments and fun accessories. These little paper gems look
festive in your workspace or make a unique gift for a teacher or friend.
Leaves:
The Artist's New Canvas
Exploring new avenues in your stamping? Looking for something different
to add to your artwork? Try adding a natural embellishment like leaves.
Leaves can be found anywhere, your backyard, on a nature walk, at the
craft store, or at your local florist. Experiment with fresh leaves
as well as dried or synthetic ones for these projects.
