12 Days of Christmas Shabby Frame

The frame I purchased at my local discount store. It was originally black but I painted it with white acrylic paint (5MA-23751). Once it had dried I used the light gold foil from the Christine Adolph Earth foil kit (5CI-19433) and the glue included in the kit and doodled randomly over the frame the attached the foil using the burnish technique. The foil kits come with clear instructions on how to use them.

For the stamping artwork I began by cutting a piece of the green patterned paper from the Mistletoe kit (5CI-MISTLETOE) and cut it to fit the size of my frame. Then I used the squeegee tool from the Inkcessories kit (5VS-INKCESSORIES) and spread the opalite inker (which is included in the kit) over the sheet of green paper. This gave it a really nice sheer look and toned down the color of the green just slightly. Around the edges of the green background cardstock I doodled some more gold foil.

Using cardstock from the Mistletoe kit (5CI-MISTLETOE) I cut 6 pieces of red and 6 pieces of the red polka dot cardstock down to 2”x2” and then distressed all the edges used the paper distressing tool (5TO-370). Ink the edges using the Pinecone VersaColor ink pad (5VS-000-171). Cut 12 pieces of corrugated cardboard down to approximately 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" and ink the edges using the Burgundy VersaColor ink pad (5VS-000-066). Cut 12 pieces of 1 1/2" x 1 1/4" pieces of white cardstock. Distress all the edges using the edge distresser tool (5TO-370) then ink the edges using the Bark VersaColor ink pad (5VS-000-154). Using the 12 Days of Christmas acrylic stamp set (M4761) stamp all the 12 days onto the white squares using the Burgundy VersaColor ink pad (5VS-000-066).

Attach all the pieces by layering. The 2" x 2" squares are glued first, then the 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" pieces of corrugated cardboard and finally the white 12 days of Christmas squares. Attach green and red ribbons from the Prima Elysee collection (5PM-519513) to the back of the frame to create a loop so you can hang the frame.
