Little Boy Blue
by Lori Brofsky
Using a dry brush, add green and blue inks onto the front panel of an index card tabbed divider. Lightly spritz the divider with water and dry with a paper towel. Make a black and white Xerox copy of a vintage photograph. Lay the image face down onto the divider and color the back of the image with a Chartpak Colorless Blender pen, which contains Xylene. Work in small sections and burnish the image as you go. Be careful not to move the image as you burnish and be sure to do this in a well-ventilated area. Stamp Starfish Border from Shore Cliff Trim (C8447) with blue ink along the bottom of the divider as shown. Stamp Mesh Border from Shore Cliff Trim (C8447) with white acrylic paint on a diagonal in the upper left side. Let dry and stamp the Mesh Border again with Aquamarine acrylic paint from Tropic Scrapbook Colors (5MA 23676). Fill a small glass vial with small shells. Attach the vial to the tab section of the divider using copper wire. Punch two 1/16" holes next to each other and wrap the wire around the vial and through the holes, as shown. Ink the edges of Little Boy Blue sticker with blue ink and adhere to top of card. Apply a little Diamond Glaze (5JK-DIAMOND2) to the sticker. Using rub-on words, apply misses you to the lower right corner of the divider, as shown. Attach the prepared panel to a manila index card divider. |
