These designer 1/3 cut file folders by Cavallini are perfect for organizing the mundane, beautifully...or try binding several together to create the foundation for a gorgeous art journal! Each pack contains 12 total (four of each 1/3 cut) letter-size designer file folders.
Cut two long rectangle pieces (approximately 8" x 1 1/4") of Bird Ephemera Decorative Wrap (5CWRAP/BRDEPH) and create shallow one-directional pleats roughly every 1/4". Run Nick Bantock Van Dyke Brown Ink Pad (5RRBROWN) along edges, pleats and lightly across embossed surface of the Flowers Metal Strip - Bloom (5PRE-63025). Use the strip of peel & stick self-adhesive on the back of the metal strip to lightly adhere pleated paper (design facing forward) to top and bottom of strip. Press to adhere metal plate to front center of Cavallini Bird Decorative File Folder (5CFF/BRD). Cut two 7 3/4" lengths of Plain Red Gaffer Tape (95SG-17138 - Discontinued) and cut in half lengthwise; set aside. Cut two 8 1/4" x 4 1/2" rectangle piece of Bird & Cage Decorative Wrap (5CWRAP/CAGE). Fan fold seven times along longer side of rectangle starting first fold toward printed side of paper in approximately 1/2" wide folds. Trim last edge, if necessary. Starting at the front lower edges of each side of folder, press and adhere half the width of the strip of gaffer tape. Align one edge of fan pleated paper (design facing out) starting at inside lower front corner of folder. Carefully fold other half of gaffer tape over paper's edge to attach it to folder. Do same to attach second fan pleated paper to other side of folder. Repeat for back side of folder to create expandable sides. Use brown ink pad to edge top edge of folder and with small leaf branch stamp from Birds & Nests Rubber Stamps (5CSTAMP/BRD) stamp around folder tab.
Cut two long rectangle pieces (approximately 6" x 1 1/4") of Bird & Cage Decorative Wrap (5CWRAP/CAGE) and create shallow one-directional pleats roughly every 1/8". Keeping paper pleated, trim one side of each piece into large zigzag pattern. Run India Ink Black Pad (5SSC-INDIA) along edges and pleats. Use the strips of peel & stick self-adhesive on the back of the Red Metal Frame Dot (5PRE-63016) to lightly adhere pleated paper (design facing forward) to top and bottom of strip. Press to adhere metal plate to front center of Cavallini Bird Decorative File Folder (5CFF/BRD). Cut two 7 3/4" lengths of 7gypsies Plain Sommes Red & Creme Gaffer Tape (5SG-17137) and cut in half lengthwise; set aside. Cut two 8 1/4" x 4 1/2" rectangle piece of Bird Decorative Wrap (5CWRAP/BRD). Fan fold seven times along longer side of rectangle starting first fold toward printed side of paper in approximately 1/2" wide folds. Trim last edge, if necessary. Starting at the front lower edges of each side of folder, press and adhere half the width of the strip of gaffer tape. Inside: Attach a trimmed postcard patterned-panel from Travel set to the top panel of the folder. Attach Paris Map paper from the Vintage Vacation Set onto two Library Pockets (5WI-QUA62273 discontinued) and trim the edges, as shown. Attach lengths of brown swirl border stickers from Heidi Swapp Decorative Tape – Traveler (5HS-HS63475) to the top and bottom edges of the library pockets and the trimmed panel on the folder. Sponge Timber Brown StazOn along the edges of the folder and two text stickers. Attach the stickers to the library pockets, as shown. Slide text strips into the top slot of two Rectangle Antique Gold Metal Indexs (5SG-12123). Attach the Metal Indexs to the top edges of the library pockets. Attach the embellished library pockets to the top panel of the folder. Sponge the same brown ink along the edges of a text sticker and attach the sticker to the bottom of the folder’s top panel.
