Brown
Sugar Accent Lampshade
by Marilyn Green
Making the Shade:
Carefully peel the paper off a small craft self-adhesive lampshade,
leaving the shade with a sticky surface. Using the paper you removed
as a pattern, cut out a piece the same as the template from a 12"
x 36 " piece of glossy cardstock. Marbleize the gloss cards stock
with a copper leaf pen using maroon, caramel, and sepia ink. Spray the
cardstock with Graphic Marker Studio Dye. Stamp with assorted script,
architectural and art faces in dark brown or black. Attach new shade
around the form onto the sticky surface.
Making the Tags:
Direct stamp with pigment dye and emboss. Stamp with dye ink in unique
designs. Edge the luggage tag with copper leaf pen, and round tags with
gold leaf pen.
Adding the Embellishments:
Glue the Brown Sugar Bead Fringe (5FL-BFC560-B - Discontinued) around the top and bottom of the shade. Glue the short Amber
Bead Fringe (5FL-BFC24-A - Discontinued) over the other beaded fringe around the
top and bottom of the shade. Glue chenille and ribbon trim around the
top and bottom of the shade. Using Ruffley Ribbon (on our Fibers
& Ribbon cards), attach the metal-ringed tags and luggage tag
with a bow and leaving streamers.
